CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- A trio of Midshipmen were among the 11 recipients of All-Patriot League honors for women's rowing that were announced Wednesday by the league office. The all-league team is determined by the results of the varsity race at the league championship. Navy placed second (out of five boats) in the race, which allowed the Mids to place three members of its crew onto the all-league squad. Leading the way for Navy was Fiona McFarland (Sr., Southampton, N.Y.), who earned the laurel for the third-straight season. McFarland was joined on the team by teammates Kerry Hannon (Jr., Bethesda, Md.) and Meredith Meehan (So., Glenshaw, Pa.). Hannon previously garnered all-league status in 2006, while this is the first postseason honor earned by Meehan. Navy tied Bucknell for the Patriot League team championship, giving the Mids a share of their second league title. Navy won the title outright in 2005 and finished in second place in each of the last two years. 2008 All-Patriot League Team |
