MERCER COUNTY, N.J. - The Navy lightweight crew team saw its varsity boat bounce back from its first defeat of the season to defeat both Columbia and Rutgers Saturday on Lake Mercer in Mercer County, N.J. In addition to winning the varsity race, Navy swept each of the remaining four races contested on the day. No times were available for any of the races. "It was a strong race for our varsity boat," said Navy head coach Rob Friedrich. "All of our boats were less dynamic in the middle portion of their races due to the weather and rough water, but we settled nicely and had good pace in each of them." The lone Navy boat to suffer a loss this season has been the varsity boat, which recorded a three-second setback to Yale last weekend. Navy will return to the water April 15 when the Mids play host to Georgetown in an 8 a.m. race on the Severn River in Annapolis. |
