Q: Why is parking at football games being restricted to season ticket holders only? Many of us live far enough from Annapolis that we can only attend one game a year, and part of the Navy Football experience is tailgating in the parking lot prior to and after games. That is now being taken away from us. It also seems unfair to the visiting team - are they going to be held out of the main stadium lot as well? Additionally, my wife has MS and parking near the stadium makes it easier on her. I'm less likely to actually go to games now if I can't park at the stadium.
I understand the priority given to season ticket holders but after a certain date, why couldn't single game parking passes be sold, in advance, on a first-come, first-served basis?
Thanks in advance for your response. - asked by: Mike Althouse -
A: Parking is not restricted to season ticket holders, we simply have offered the opportunity for season ticket holders to buy a season-long pass, and they have responded with great enthusiasm. As of August 1, the remaining single game-day passes will be distributed to the public for sale. I suggest you contact our Ticket Office who will have a number of individual game-day passes available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

Q: I love what you've done (doing) at the stadium, but I hate what you have done with the parking. I know space is limited, but to "shut-out" single game (Blue & Gold) ticket purchasers from getting parking around the stadium is not fair. I can't believe that season ticket holders have taken all available parking around the stadium. - asked by: Thomas L. DeVaughan -
A: Thomas, we've sold over 4500 parking passes for the home games this year. We sent out at least a dozen bits of information during the pre-season period to virtually everyone that bought a ticket informing them of the best way to secure a guaranteed parking spot. If you had purchased a season parking pass or, right up to the first game of the season, purchased an individual game day parking pass for anyone of the six home games, you wouldn't have a problem at all with the parking. Everyone that has a pass can pull up to the stadium within a minute of kickoff and still be assured a place to park. The system works, it simply will take time for the number of people that missed the information to understand what they need to do next year to alleviate concerns. There's not a person who purchased a parking pass who's complaining about the parking situation. As a matter of fact, they're all ecstatic over the fact that there no longer is any traffic and they have their guaranteed spot. I suggest you call the Ticket Office and see what might still be available. If not, car pool this year, and next year get on the wagon early, get your pass, and I guarantee you'll have no complaints.
