Q: In your Navy Football 2003 Official Fan Guide regarding Stadium Policies you state that "alcohol is strictly prohibited inside Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium", however, you also state that ALL STADIUM POLICIES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTIFICATION. Prior to kick-off of the Eastern Michigan game, I made a tour to check out all the fantastic improvements that you have recently made and noticed alcohol flowing freely at the following locations inside the stadium:
1) The AD's tent;
2) The Superintendent's tent;
3) The South end zone luxury suites;
4) The Class of '53 area under the north end zone scoreboard; and
5) The Class of '63's tent.
Does this mean that the policy has been changed and that the sale of beer will soon be available to ALL Navy fans or do you intend to maintain the current double standard. If so, would you please provide the rationale that supports such an unfair and inequitable policy?
Congratulations on the improvements to the stadium. They are great. - asked by: Tony Duncan -
A: The policy has not changed. We have added some hospitality areas that are secured with fencing and security personnel, and the alcohol must be contained in those areas. The policy in the rest of the stadium remains the same. Several of these areas are available to the general public, including the Captain's BBQ.
